Sylva and Reda two ospreys, live in the the Loire Valley in a fantastic nest.

They are expecting 3 babies (eggs for the moment).

Normally the eggs will hatch on Friday May 15th or Saturday May 16th.

You can watch the nest on the webcam from 8am to 6pm.

I am very excited.

Facts 

A large fish-eating bird of prey, with a wingspan of up to 1.7m.

They are one of the world’s most spectacular raptors.

The osprey has a dramatic fishing technique of plunging into water with wings swept back, talons thrust forwards at the last minute to snatch a fish below the surface.

They catch live fish weighing up to 1 kg, including pike, perch, trout and eels. 

The osprey is a summer visitor to Europe, spending the winter in Africa. 

In winter they live in Senegal, The Gambia or Mauritania, returning to Europe in late March to early April.

They go back to Africa from mid-August to mid-September.
